PRIVACY AND COOKIES
We take your privacy seriously at Ashortwalk. Find out more about how we protect your privacy and which cookies we use and why.
Information you supply using any electronic forms on this site will only be used for the purpose(s) stated on the form.
Information you provide in emails to us will only be used for the purpose (which we reasonably believe) that you give it to us for.
Information you provide us with may be used for statistical research but will not be used in any way (beyond its original purpose) which enables you to be identified.
Ashortwalk uses two platforms to present and sell our services and products. Our website is hosted on the Wix.com platform, our store uses the Ecwid platform. Both Wix and Ecwid are always launched using an HTTPS connection.
Your data in Wix:
Our website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to promote and sell our services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.
Your data in Ecwid:
All the data in our store — products, customers, general information — is stored with Ecwid, so they totally take care of it. Ecwid regularly checks with security scanners, update the software and create backups of their stores. Ecwid keeps the data on a secure hosting server — Amazon Web Services, the most reliable and secure solution.
Credit card information
Ecwid doesn’t deal with your credit card information. Ecwid doesn’t collect, store or process such data in any way. Instead, Ecwid supports a number of popular payment gateways (at ashortwalk we use Worldpay) that process your payment information.
Payments on the payment processor’s secure page
When you place an order, Ecwid sends the order information to the payment processor and then redirects the customer securely to the Worldpay website page where you will enter your credit card information. When the payment is done, the payment processor sends a reply (callback) containing the payment status to Ecwid.
Ecwid is PCI DSS certified.
PCI DSS stands for Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, and Ecwid is PCI DSS validated Level 1 Service Provider which is the highest international standard for secure data exchanges for online stores and payment systems. This standard was created by Visa, MasterCard, AmEx, Discover and JCB and online stores must comply with it to be able to accept credit cards.
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site. Some cookies are used for advertising, so you are shown adverts that are more personalised to you, based on your previous internet behaviour.
Some examples of cookies could be:
storing information to personalise the website to your chosen requirements
a website that sells things may use a cookie to record items you have in a shopping basket
cookies can be used to record users behaviour on a website, for example to record the pages they have viewed
There are two different types of cookie that can be placed in your browser by a website:
Session cookies are only used for the period you use the website, and are deleted when you close your web browser. A new cookie would then be placed in your web browser if you were to visit the same website again in the future.
Persistent cookies remain in your browser once you have left the site and closed your web browser. The next time you visit the site the information in the cookie will be used to ensure the website works as set up at the previous visit. For example to display certain things on the homepage. Persistent cookies will expire if the website that set them is not visited again within a certain timescale.
Cookies on the rCUP/ Ashortwalk website
We use a number of different cookies on the Ashortwalk website and the sub domains and third party systems we run.
We use a google analytics cookie on our website and all our online systems to record website usage. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. We collect this information in a way which does not identify anyone, we do not make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting any of our websites, and we do not share this information with anyone.
We use a number of essential session cookies to enable certain parts of the website to function properly.
If you have any questions about the way cookies are used on these sites, or how you may be affected please contact us using email@example.com
